There were several disasters and calamities experienced in Egypt this month. First, 500 tons of phosphate sank in the Nile a week ago, which occupied the Egyptian public opinion amid floundering statements by officials and experts who tried to reassure the citizens about the polluted water. Experts assured that the phosphate contains a number of Heavy metals such as uranium and cadmium, which cause adverse effects on human beings in case of melting in the water. However, some Ministers claimed it’s hard to dissolve in the water since it’s a metal, which is totally wrong. It's a scientifically known fact that phosphate is a salt of phosphoric acid.
To be an Egyptian journalist on World Press Freedom Day (3 May), one must have a healthy sense of ironic juxtaposition. In Egypt, as most journalists and readers know, the words freedom and journalism, particularly under the harsh light of the Al-Sisi regime, in the same sentence elicit a loud and bitter laugh. Freedom of speech has never, in many years in this profession covering Egypt, been a mainstay. But in the past 20 months, while Al-Sisi ruled initially De jure and now De Facto, holding a pen has become associated only with fear and oppression-especially if you write in the political/economic realm. Indeed, as respected Egyptian journalist Yosri Fouda said, last week: “The current scene in Egypt is among the worst in journalism history.” I disagree – in 25 years of practicing, reading, watching and listening to Egyptian media this is, without equivocation, the darkest hour for Egyptian media. But the regime neglects an important detail, just as it plies the journalistic drink with fear it greatly fears the very pen it attacks.
An Egyptian journalist has called recently Egyptian women to demonstrate in Tahrir Square and take off the veil. This is how we care about the appearances rather than our actual problems. The veil is just style of clothing that expresses the character and style of one woman just like bikini.
Many plans aiming to restore the Islamic Caliphate by Turkey appeared these days to restore the Ottoman Empire from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf with the help of the small state of Qatar and the international terrorist organization of the Muslim Brotherhood. These plans were ignited by the corruption of Arab governments, increasing religious extremism and poverty.
We have to work in order to achieve our dreams. Imagine being diving in a deep sea and you have to go up as soon as possible before you run out of oxygen. You can see the sunlight from afar. Yet, you don't have enough time. You should work as hard as you can in order to save your life. This is how you should work in your life. If you don't work hard in order to achieve your goals, you will die before you can see them in your reality. Therefore, I invite you to work harder and harder to break despair barrier and turn your dreams into reality.
The extremists in Egypt are working hard to turn Egypt into a religious Wahhabi state with the help of the Egyptian security forces, which stretched their hands to them in order to prevent building churches and turn the existing ones into mosques. Therefore, they ordered that the church of Samalout won't be allowed to be rebuilt in case of demolition for any reason. This was one of their conditions to allow building the church. The Mufti of the Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh days ago, in which he has ordered that all churches in the Arabian Peninsula should be demolished.
How can the parliamentary elections held under the current circumstances in Egypt? Some people support the postponement of the elections, while others think it’s a pure scandal to do so. Yet, we should think about what benefits our country Egypt after she was hardly rescued from the traitors who apply foreign agenda to destroy Egypt and the region.
These are the same guys the Western governments have hosted, pampered and financed, now coming back to haunt them. These are the great "believers of democracy" killing to intimidate those who criticize them or differ with them. They are all the offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, a world fascist, terrorist organization that openly states that it will only rest when the whole world has been forced into submission to their ideas and distorted beliefs. In the plans of the West, the Moslem Brothers were to inherit the Middle East. So when Egyptians revolted against them in June of 2013, they called this popular revolt a coup and accused Egypt of human rights abuses.
Father Sergius the rebel was born in Gerga in 1882, and then he moved to Cairo in his youth to study at the theological school at Mahmasha where he organized his very first demonstration against the bad conditions of the dorms. He graduated in 1903. He was ordained a priest in Mallawy one year later and then became the deputy of Assiut diocese. Later, he traveled to the Sudan and worked as the deputy of Khartoum diocese where he started the national struggle against the British colonization and issued “St. Mark's Episcopate Lighthouse" magazine. The English ruler ordered his deportation from the Sudan after spending three years there considering him a troublemaker.
Customary reconciliation sessions in Egypt succeeded to make fake peace between the Coptic Christians and the Islamists. The Copts are usually wronged and criminals are saved from punishment. Such sessions force the victims to give up their rights and despise the law.
I was astonished by the reaction of Egyptian government after many foreign governments decided to close their embassies in Egypt and advised their citizens not to visit Egypt except for emergency, especially in Sinai and the Egyptian-Libyan border. In fact the Egyptian government did the same when it invited Egyptians to be extra cautious after Friday prayers in case the Muslim Brotherhood carries out a terrorist attack.
According to unofficial statistics, more than four million Egyptians have become atheists since the revolution of January 25. Such horrible numbers should be taken into consideration since our community tends to believe in God. We should think about the reasons that lead so many people to disbelief in God and religions. Indeed, we care for appearances more than anything else. This is very dangerous as it separates between the practices and invisible true believing. Such balance was meant by God since the beginning. For instance, the Coptic Orthodox Church applies many rituals and links them to heaven.
The Muslims are suffering from Parliament terrorist attack in Ottawa more than any others. They suffer also by acts of ISIS and other Islamic organization that led many people to describe the Muslims as terrorists which is not true. Why should the Muslims rejoice and cheer because someone was converted to Islam? I'm not talking here about the fanatics who kidnap Christian girls and force them to convert into Islam, as they are but criminals. Those are indeed criminals. I also met with some people who had to embrace Islam because they work in an Arab country or for other reasons. Those don’t consider themselves Muslims, but other Muslims count them among their congregation. Another man decided to seize money of a Muslim woman. So, he converted into Islam and married her! However, catechumens pass through many tests before they are accepted in Christian churches.
Day after another, Sheikh Yasser Borhamy issues fatwa after another about Christians showing his great interest in his partners in homeland and in particular their inevitable destiny in hell as infidels! He didn’t forget to repeat that even when blood of Christians and Muslims were mixed up in Sinai in the recent terrorist attack. As Egypt was mourning the victims of that very attack, Borhamy was bringing the bad news that Christian victims will never enter heaven.
Everyone is concerned about ISIS’ news in Iraq and Syria. ISIS is the abbreviation of the “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria”. The name is taken from a group founded by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq in 2004 to resist the US occupation. ISIS, is also known as Daash and developed significantly, especially after the establishment of the so-called Front victory in Syria, formed in militias under the name of the Free Syrian Army to fight against Bashar Assad's regime, They soon grew more and more powerful to become one of the most powerful factions within the FSA. Later, they announced the integration of al-Qaeda branch in Syria (Al-Nusra Front) to establish ISIS in April 2013, which increased its strength and population.
Is there terrorism in Egypt? Since when? Does Egypt export or import terrorism? Is Egypt fighting terrorism seriously? Is there somebody to answer such questions? Let me try to answer them starting from the seventies of the last century when I was introduced to politics that drove me crazy and will drive you the same. Terrorism in Egypt started at the seventies of the last century and at higher rates than any other country. Almost every week we heared about a terrorist attack. Only Iraq, Syria and Yemen exceled Egypt later. Terrorism against the Copts comes under the auspices of the state.
News media has converted people into animals who live in a circus. The poor animals are moved by their trainer to see and do whatever he or she wants. In fact, people have no choice anymore to pick up the news they want as they have to consume whatever presented by news media. However, have you ever thought about whom makes a decision to concentrate on or even ignore certain story or news? Indeed, it’s either authority or money.
After Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim was proven a liar as he claimed lady of Gabal al-Tir had converted into Islam. Police attacked and broke into houses of the Copts to destroy them. Yet, the minister and his gang were unlucky as the lady could escape her kidnappers and returned to her family denying she was converted into Islam. This reveals the complicity of Al-Azhar or police can issue documents on behalf of Al-Azhar. It’s also weird that Al-Azhar issued no statement about the case yet. It should be part of the Wahhabi Saudi terrorist plan since 1952 to eliminate Christians of Egypt.
“Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name.” This was the prayer of Jesus Christ at the night of his crucifixion. He was apparently praying for the Christian unity.
Many people managed to despise the Egyptian law in order to impose their own ideas and conditions on the Egyptian society. For example, supporters of some political activists described the Egyptian Judiciary as unfair demanding the president to issue a presidential pardon for them. Yet, the same people refused the issuance of a presidential pardon for the Muslim Brotherhood under the former president Mohamed Morsy. I wonder: have they forgotten about their former positions and views?
It is indisputable that Christians are indigenous citizens in Iraq. Their existence in this country is prehistorically and they embraced Christianity since its very beginning as well. This is verified with tons of historical monuments museums and documents in Iraq. They do not lack the efficiency in all areas: scientific, medical, literary, artistic, media, academic, and political. As for their role in Iraq's modern history is explicit. They participated in all progressive movements and shared the most injustices and oppression by the government as well as the terrorist organizations. Such oppression has reached the peak by the terrorist organization of Daash.
