Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, donated his "Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow" prize money that he received from the International Foundation of the Unity of the Christian Orthodox Nations of Russia to build a church and a mosque in the new administrative capital of Egypt.
The annual prize is presented to a person who promotes Christian values in society and works to strengthen the unity of the Orthodox peoples.
