Former President Hosni Mubarak said in his notes that were published recently in Rose El Youssef newspaper, “If I had been a dictator, Amr Moussa would be dead now as he used to talk to me in a loud voice and he constantly challenged, and even embarrassed me at many times.

In the ninth volume of his memoirs he says: No official has raised his voice in my palace for 30 years save Amr Moussa, and this made my wife very angry that she asked me to get rid of him out of the government.
Moussa was the Foreign Minister from 1991 to 2001, when he was elected as Secretary General for the Arab League in May 2001 with my assistance. However my wife asked me to pension him off, I challenged everybody and presented him to the Arab League after Habib el-Adli, Interior Minister advised that Moussa should be kept busy as long as possible, that Egyptians may forget about him and he may lose his popularity that he gain while working as foreign minister showing great courage against Israel.
