CAIRO - One policeman was killed and four others injured when their truck, carrying prisoners, were attacked south of Cairo, police sources said on Wednesday.
The truck was on its way from Beni Sueif in Upper Egypt when a private car blocked the road and came under fire from gunmen.
One prisoner, convicted in a drug case, disappeared during the attack believed to have been mounted by relatives of the inmate, the sources added.
Police is hunting a massive hunt for the assailants as investigations are under way.
