Egypt, France, Spain FMs to hold meeting in Cairo
The foreign ministers of Egypt, France and Spain Ahmed Abul-Gheit, Bernard Kouchner and Miguel Moratinos respectively will hold a tripartite meeting in Cairo on Sunday, said French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero.

In statements on Friday, Valero said the meeting will be held in light of a decision made by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero to delay the Union for the Mediterranean summit to November.

The summit was originally scheduled for June 7 in Barcelona, Spain, he noted.

The new summit date will coincide with the 15th anniversary of launching the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Barcelona Process), he added.

The delay was decided to give a chance to proximity talks between the Palestinians and Israelis to make progress, he added.

Kouchner is due to visit Egypt on the final leg of a Mideast tour, starting Saturday, taking him to Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.
