Egypt's Salah scores as Roma beat Palermo in Serie A

Egypt's winger Mohamed Salah scored the opener and created another goal in Roma's 4-1 win over Palermo in Italy's Serie A on Sunday.

Salah opened the scoring from a tight angle shortly after the half-hour mark after being set up by Edin Dzeko to take his tally to four league goals so far this season.

Leandro Paredes made it 2-0 in the 51st with a free kick that surprised Palermo goalkeeper Josip Posavec.

Dzeko added the third in the 68th, finishing off a series of passes by Salah and Florenzi with a low shot from the edge of the area for his league-best eighth of the season - the same number of goals he scored in his 31 appearances last season.

Robin Quaison pulled one back for Palermo in the 80th but Stephan El Shaarawy quickly restored Roma's three-goal advantage.

Roma, who ended the league last season in third place, lie second in the able with 19 points, two behind leaders Juventus after nine matches.
