Egypt signs contract with Greek Co. to get rid of 220 tons of Lindane

 Egyptian Ministry of Environment signed Wednesday a contract with a Greek Company to get rid of 220 tons of lindane, a chemical substance used for an agricultural insecticide and as a pharmaceutical treatment for lice and scabies, Youm7 reported. The the tons have been stored in Suez’s Adabia Port since 1998.

 
Per the contract, the Company will get rid of the cargo over a period between 8 and 10 months for $400,000 and will be sent it to France.
