Ahmed Helmy to return to cinema screens soon after two year hiatus

 Egyptian comedy actor Ahmed Helmy will be back on the silver screen in the near future after two years of absence, according to details of an upcoming release.

 
Helmy’s last film was Sonaa FI Masr (Made in Egypt), released in 2014 and directed by Amr Salama.
 
The upcoming feature has a temporary title of Al-Maz Hor (Free Diamonds) and is said to co-star Donia Samir Ghanem, directed by Khaled Marei.
 
This is the second film starring both Helmy and Ghanem after 2012's X-Large.
 
The rest of the cast are yet to be announced, along with the dates of release and the final name of the film.
 
Helmy started on television with the programme Laab Eyal (Kids Games), and debuted in cinema through the film Aboud Ala El-Hedoud (Aboud on the Borders) in 1999.
 
He has since been in over 20 films, most notably Sahar El-Layaly (Sleepless Nights), Mido Mashakel (Troublesome Mido), Gaalatny Mogreman (She Made me a Criminal), Keda Reda (That's Reda) and Assal Eswed (Black Honey.)
 
He also appeared in a number of television series and programmes as well as a play titled Hakim Eyoun (Eye Doctor.)
