Serious injury sidelines Zamalek's key player Ibrahim for 3 months
Zamalek attacking midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim will be out of action for three months to undergo surgery on a serious ankle injury he sustained during the 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast's Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.

"The primary medical tests showed that Ibrahim has broken his fibula and dislocated his ankle," team doctor Walid Abdel-Rahman told reporters on Monday.

"The player will undergo surgery on Monday to repair his ankle," he said.

"He is expected to be out of actions for three months."

Ibrahim will miss Zamalek's remaining games in the Egypt Cup and CAF Champions League, as well as the start of the new season.
