Stoke City Chairman: Ramadan Sobhi has a lot of work to do
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has high hopes that Egyptian international Ramadan Sobhi will be a “star” for the Potters, but insists that the transfer is not done just yet.

The deal to bring the 19-year-old to the Premier League from Cairo giants Al Ahly is almost wrapped up.

Coates has expressed excitement at the prospect of Sobhi playing for his side, but warns that the player will not simply breeze into the first team.

“We hope he’s going to be a star but there is a lot of work to do – and we have to get the deal done first,” Coates is quoted by the Uttoxeter Advertiser.

The protracted transfer of the player should be completed soon, with KingFut reporting that the player has returned to Egypt after undergoing a successful medical at Stoke City.
