Cairo Court considers trial of 213 accused of belonging to Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis

A Cairo Criminal Court will consider Saturday a trial of 213 people, allegedly accused of belonging to militant group of Sinai-based Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis that committed a total of 54 crimes against police personnel, and tried to assassinated former Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim, Youm7 reported.
 
On Feb. 21, 2015, Egyptian General Prosecution imposed media gag on the investigations of the case, while the first session that has been held in March 5, 2015 allowed to be covered by only the authorized media.
Government calls Parliament to finalize draft law of municipality
 
Egypt’s government has called the House of Representatives to finalize a draft law of municipality, to be a step forward holding municipal elections nationwide at the end of this year, according to a statement from the cabinet Friday.
 
In April, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has called for carrying out municipal elections by the end of 2016, in light of “fighting corruptions.”
