Majid Rahib, Coptic activist, warned against destroying ancient monuments in Wadi Rayan in order to build a road inside a monastery.
He added that 40 antique sites were reported inside the monastery. He added that the government should protect such monuments and not to destroy them.
He explained that the government insists on establishing the road at the monastery of Wadi Rayan though there are alternatives that can save 50 million LE.
