Many Christians in Alexandria signed a statement to ask Abba Pachomius, acting Patriarch to prevent nominating bishops with dioceses for the papacy as this is against the laws of the Church.
The statement said: The violations of the past shouldn’t be taken as a pretext to repeat them.
