Bishop Rafael, General Secretary of the Holy Synod, commented or rumors about his resignation assuring there is no resignation from priesthood in the Coptic Orthodox Church as it is equal to fatherhood.
He explained that the office of the General Sectary is taken for three years and may be renewed with elections according to the regulation. The last round ends this month and elections will be held to choose the next General Secretary of the Holy Synod.
