Egypt opposition requests amendments to Constitution
A coalition of four major opposition parties in Egypt will issue a statement requesting constitutional amendments limiting the presidency to two terms, facilitating independent candidacies, abolishing the Emergency Law, ensuring freedom of the press, and revising NGO laws
The coalition includes the Nasserist Party, the liberal Wafd and Democratic Front parties, and the leftist Tagammu Party, according to Egypt's paper.

The statement will reiterate that Egypt is a liberal country that gives women and Copts full rights, and fights all forms of corruption.

The coalition will call on citizens and civil society organizations to pressure the regime to accept its requests for constitutional amendments.

The sources said the statement will not address the parties' position vis-a-vis Ex-UN nuclear chief Mohamed ElBaradei who has said he would run for president of Egypt if elections are free and fair.
