Locust

Rest in Peace my father was a researcher in the ministry of agriculture his main researches were on INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT sometime around 1956 Locust coming from Arabia Saudi Kingdom attacked Egyptian fields and as a top researcher he was sent to fight this unexpected danger!

Locust attacks continued later on in different occasions dates and places however early inspection points were spread over after the sudden attack of 1956 and monitoring that pest as an insect that has a life circle and expectancies can easily be established and drastic measures can be on time no surprises anymore!
Today Locust is attacking again and this reminded me with this history. Then ministry of agriculture under a national ruling leader –Jamal Abdul Nasser- was taking care of Egypt’s National needs and taking seriously in consideration Agriculture as a national treasure supplies Egypt and the world with top quality Cotton and Sugar Cane once again considered as national treasures! However in today’s economy agriculture has left its place to a second and third line of economy creating an expected crisis of food!
Historically speaking Agriculture was one of the first professions man used to survive along with cattle (livestock) or domestic animals like Chicken, Pigs, Cows, Sheep, Horses….! Then Industry started and with its fast growing economy agriculture started to roll back leaving its leading position to Industry letting fertile lands to be used for building factories and farmers realized they could gain ten times a bigger profit in less effort and more secured from national geographic disasters, like a flooding or on the opposite hand drought that could demolish their yearlong efforts of planting different plants a drought could kill in no time or a flood!
However, Industry proved to be as much vulnerable as agriculture, needs lots of funds, primary products to be used in the final outcome and this could be scarce or needs special agreements with productive entities, more over power, oil, or atomic and nuclear power is needed and the luck of any of those is a major setback, and this brings us back to the oldest mean of living in societies, trade in all its different ways! Meaning, trade is not just merchandizes, but could be expertise, or culture, or people too! Tourism is kind of exchanging people for services or Technology is kind of exchanging expertise for people or cash money and so on.
Why all this historical background? And we all know Egypt is heading to a very deep slop of collapsing economy I talked about it few weeks back! US Secretary of State John Kerry has said it was "paramount" for Egypt's economy to "get back on its feet" during recent talks in Cairo.
He urged the government to reach a deal on $4.8bn (3.2bn) IMF loan that could help overcome a severe economic crisis.
"It is paramount, essential, urgent that the Egyptian economy get stronger, that it gets back on its feet," Mr. Kerry told Egyptian and US businessmen in Cairo on Saturday.
"It's clear to us that the IMF arrangement needs to be reached, that we need to give the market the confidence."
Mr. Morsi's government agreed the loan in principle last November but it was later put on hold amid continuing street protests.
During his two-day visit, Mr. Kerry is due to hold talks with Mr. Morsi and other senior government officials.
Meetings are also planned with opposition leaders, although some of them are refusing to attend the talks.
They are angered by Washington's appeal to reconsider their boycott of the general elections set for next month.
American political traction in Egypt has declined sharply following Mubarak's departure amid mass protests in 2011, so it is not clear how much Mr. Kerry can hope to achieve, the BBC's Jim Muir reports. So on behind of many Egyptians I would say to Mr. Kerry, your government needs to review his policies towards Egypt before expecting any improvement in the current situation!
Egypt remains sharply divided between Islamists and their liberal and secular opponents.
More than 70 people were killed in violence between security forces and protesters following the second anniversary of the revolution.
In fact the Locust is not just the pests that attacked and are attacking Egyptian Soil; locust could be a synonym for the Islamists of Muslims Brotherhood that attacked the political, religious, economical, historical and social life of all the Egyptians!
MB did not just ruin political of Egyptians taking over power by fake elections or fake promises to poor people who believed in them or sold their soles for some sugar and cooking oil they attacked all productive entities in the Egyptian Economical entity burning factories, blowing up pipe lines transferring the natural gas and attacked historical monuments trying to sell the pyramids to Qatar, or rent Suez Canal to them crippling the economy more and more!
Protesters had become thugs and terrorists in the current government dictionary and murdered Egyptians by militants or police or the third invisible parties are not even acknowledged as murdered but just a traffic incident or what so ever!
Terrorists that were expelled from other countries for security reasons found a refuge in the Egyptian soil, Hamas invaded Sinai, and other militants took refuge in Massa Matrouh near Alexandria and the closer city to the Libyan / Egyptian boarders! Is this going to help Egypt achieve its freedom Independence and the three overdue requests –Bread, Freedom, and Human Dignity? God only knows, but I know for sure he did bless Egypt!
