Keeper Ahmed Buska blocked two penalties in a shootout to help Egypt's Masry reach the African Confederation Cup round of 32 at the expense of Nigeria's Ifeanyi Ubah of Nigeria following a 1-1 aggreagte draw on Sunday.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Masry leveled the aggregate score in the 25th minute when forward Ahmed Shoukry converted a dubious penalty awarded for an apparent handball on a defender.
Masry pushed forward and wasted some goal-scoring chances but could not score a decisive winner, with the match directly going to penalties.
Buska saved Ubah's first two spot kicks and the visitors blasted a third high over as Masry won 3-0 in the shootout to spark wild celebrations among their crowd in Ismailia, where the match took place. Masry are prohibited from playing at home in neighbouring city Port Said due to security concerns.
Masry will face Malian side Djoliba in the Confederation Cup round of 32.
