Nigerian striker Ajayi in hot form as Ahly face second-from-bottom Taadin

Ahly's summer-signing Junior Ajayi will be looking to continue his scoring run after netting three goals in three consecutive games when his side visit newly-promoted El-Nasr Taadin on Sunday.

The Nigerian striker opened his account in the 2-2 draw against Alexandria's Ittihad before going on to score further goals against El-Entag El-Harby and Talae El-Geish.

And a match against minnows Taadin in Aswan seems to be the perfect chance for the 20-year-old to continue banging in the goals for Ahly, who will visit a side lying second from bottom with only five points from 10 games.

When asked about his forward, manager Hossam El-Badry did not rule out the possibility of Ajayi becoming 'another Flavio', in reference to the former Ahly striker who helped the Reds to a host of domestic and continental titles between 2005 and 2009.

"Ajayi could well be a new Flavio for Ahly, I do not exclude that happening," El-Badry said when asked about his forward.

"At the beginning I was a bit concerned when Ajayi first joined us as he looked a bit unsettled.

"That's why it took him some time to feature in games until he gelled into the team and looked to have gained the confidence to play.

"Ajayi could be another Flavio, not just in terms of scoring goals, but regarding his relationship with the team fans."

League holders Ahly should have no problem cruising past Taadin in their bid to topple Maqassa from the top of the table, with just a single point separating the two sides.

The Cairo giants will welcome back summer-signing Akram Tawfik after recovering from injury, with another newly-acquired player in Mido Gaber making the squad after being left out in the past games.

But Ahly will still miss several players due to injury, with Saleh Gomaa suffering a groin complaint and full-back Sabri Rahil having a thigh problem.

More important is the absence of injured midfielder Amr El-Sulaya and the suspended Ahmed Fathi, who picked up a third booking in last week's 3-0 victory over Geish.

Veteran hitman Emad Meteb continues to miss out, with reports suggesting that he will depart his boyhood club by the end of the season, with strike partner John Antwi also ruled out as he looks set to be ditched by Ahly in the winter break.
