Roma boss Spaletti praises Egypt's Salah despite missing score chances

AS Roma manager Luciano Spaletti has commended the performance of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah after the team's 4-1 Europa League home victory over Czech's Vicktoria Plzen, despite the forward missing several score chances during the game.

"Salah could go wrong a few goals, but in the real world, when it burns, the one on one makes a difference," Spaletti told reporters after the game.

"Salah does not trust his right, I'm tired of seeing him in inverted foot," the coach added.

The former Chelsea and Fiorentina forward, Salah failed to get his name on the score sheet when he had a close-range effort denied by the keeper; the Egypt ace lost another chance just a few minutes later.

Salah's big miss could arguably be the one he squandered in the 76th minute when he went one-on-one before seeing his chipped effort go wide.

"This happens to lefties. They often trust only the left, while the right usually trust the right," the Roma boss said.

AS Roma are playing in the Europa League after being ousted by Porto in the UEFA Champions League preliminaries.
