Zamalek, new boss Salah eye convincing league win against Ismaily

Zamalek will be looking to give a convincing performance and achieve a win in the first match under new coach Mohamed Salah when they meet rivals Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday.

Salah succeeds Moemen Soliman, who recently resigned in the wake of chairman Mortada Mansour's scathing attack on the team's management following Friday's 1-0 league home victory over Tanta.

The resignation of Soliman, who guided Zamalek to a 3-1 Egypt Cup final victory over arch-rivals Ahly, is his second in the space of just two weeks, having also resigned following another unimpressive 1-0 win over Masry ahead of the international break.

Soliman guided Zamalek to four wins and a single draw in five league games.

The Whites, who still have four games in hand, currently lie at the league's sixth place with 13 points, 10 points behind leaders Ahly.

Ismaily, meanwhile, are tenth with 12 points.

Beating the Dervishes will be a good boost for Zamalek and new coach Salah to continue the title purchase successfully. Zamalek lost 1-0 to Ismaily in two league matches last season.

The 58-year-old Salah, who led Zamalek as an interim coach on four occasions in the last two years, has urged his players to fully concentrate as they have no other choice but to win against Ismaily.

The costal side Ismaily, who lost three times and drew in three other matches this season, will be eyeing a return to winning ways after their 1-1 draw in the last game against Masry.

On Tuesday, Zamalek will be missing defender Ali Gabr and midfielder Ahmed Tawfik for disciplinary reasons, while influential striker Bassem Morsi will not be available due to injury.

Ismaily's injured defender Mahmoud Metwaly will be the prominent absentee against the Cairo giants.
