The Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Yasser Atef said that Egypt-Gulf coordination is at its highest levels, in statements to “Al Anbaa” Kuwaiti newspaper.
He added that Egypt is keen on the independence of its decision “so no one imagines they can impose on us a certain agenda or vision for the future of the region.”
Atef’s remarks come amid suggestions of a deep rift between Egypt and Saudi Arabia after the first voted in favor of a Russian resolution on Syria in the United Nations Security Council.
Suggestions of a political rift escalated as the Kingdom announced halting fuel aid for October to its strongest Arab ally Egypt.
