Tunisia ask to play Egypt ahead of World Cup qualifiers
The Egyptian national team has been offered a friendly with their North African Arab neighbors Tunisia, amid the pair's preparation for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

"The Egyptian Football Association has received an official fax from their Tunisian counterpart requesting a friendly but the association is yet to decide," Ahram Sports reported on Thursday.

The Pharaohs will kick-off their training camp on 26 August playing two friendly games against Guinea and South Africa.

In late June, the World Cup-hungry Egypt were drawn in a tight group at the qualifiers' final round alongside Ghana, Congo and Uganda.

Under the guidance of Argentinean coach Hector Cuper, the Pharaohs will be eyeing to break their World Cup streak and reach the football world’s most prestigious showpiece for the first time in more than two decades.

Under the 60-year-old boss, Egypt have already secured a place at next year's Africa Cup of Nations finals for the first time since 2010.

The seven-time African champions, Egypt, have made only two World Cup appearances, both in Italy in 1934 and 1990.
