Egypt and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny will be looking for a strong start during the English Premier League's forthcoming season as the Gunners have drawn a matchup with Liverpool for the team's opening day on 13 August.

Pharaohs star Elneny spent three years at Basel before joining Arsenal last January in one of the most high-profile moves for any Egyptian footballer, having reaped the rewards of solid and consistent playwith the Swiss champions.

The 23-year-old has made 11 league appearances with Arsenal since his arrival, earning acclaim among Gunners faithful for a series of convincing performances during last season which saw them finish second behind surprise champions Leicester City.

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will go head-to-head for the first time as Premier League managers on Sept. 10 when Manchester United and Manchester City meet in the derby at Old Trafford.

The fixtures for the 2016-17 Premier League season were announced Wednesday, with Mourinho's first competitive game in charge of United coming at Bournemouth on the weekend of Aug. 13-14. Guardiola's first league game as City manager is at home to Sunderland.

The first Manchester derby is in the fourth round of games.

Leicester will start the defense of its title away to promoted Hull, while the highlights of the first round of fixtures are Arsenal-Liverpool and Chelsea-West Ham.
