The manager of the Rabeh orphanage in Wadi el-Natroun has been sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of exploiting children and making them work as beggars, Youm7 reported.
The defendant, identified as Khaled R., was also charged with stealing money from the orphans’ fund and hiring the children in his farm.
Violations committed by the orphanage were detected in December 2014 and investigated by the Ministry of Solidarity, and subsequently a decision was released to close it and transfer the children to another facility.
