No deaths in Qalioubiya clashes: Health directorate

The Health Directorate of Qalioubiya was not notified of any deaths following clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and police in the governorate on Monday, a source at the directorate told Al-Ahram Arabic news website.

Clashes broke out in Qalioubiya governorate north of Cairo, in the village of Abu Zaabal on Monday following early Muslim Eid prayers marking the end of Ramadan.
Unverified reports of three deaths among protesters circulated following the clashes.
Al-Ahram reported four policemen were wounded in the clashes.
Egyptian police have been cracking down on protest activity, mainly pro-Brotherhood, since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 and the issuing of a strict protest law last November.
Hundreds were killed in clashes with police and thousands (tens of thousands by some estimates) were rounded up.
On the other hand, armed attacks on police and army officers and personnel led to the death of hundreds of them since the bloody dispersal of the main pro-Morsi sit-in in Cairo in August 2013.
