Egyptian expats will be allowed to vote in the upcoming presidential elections without being residents or pre-registered voters in embassies, The Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Sunday.
The new voting system will be applied in 141 embassy and consulates, according to a ministry statement published by the state news agency MENA.
Voters will only be required to present their national identification cards or passports. They should be registered in the voters' list in Egypt.
Egyptian expats will vote for a new president from May 15 until May 18.
