"Magdy Shohdi", lawyer of Diocese of Beni Suef’s, expressed his wish that the new constitution will guarantee a civil state as well as freedom of religion and thought, and that no political party will have the power and all parties will participate, also no faction will control all various unions, which raises the anger of the other parties and may threaten by a civil war.

" Shohdi" said that the statements of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders and the Salafies do not promise us a civil state nor a Constitution that guarantees the establishment of a civil state, stressing that the beliefs of Christians are a red line that any laws that contradicts with our beliefs will not be accepted . “Shohdi” called for the issuance of laws that guarantee the return of “advice and guidance sessions” for those who want to convert to Islam and a special law for the construction of churches that suits the nature of architectural form of the churches not one that forces churches to a specific architecture form.
He concluded that the Copts have been living with their fellow Muslims throughout history, with love, pointing out that the Copts have neither worked throughout their history against the state nor have they carried out any foreign agendas, and have  not received any funds to implement such agendas, but have been only working for Egypt.
