The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development agreed to grant the Egyptian Railway Authority a loan of 126 million euros to manufacture six train units for the VIP train.
The bank will finance six units consisting of 60 vehicles belonging to first and second-class air-conditioned trains, as well as six tractors, said head of the Railway Authority Ahmed Hamed.
Hamed pointed out that the train consists of 10 vehicles and a tractor.
The new trains come within the framework of the authority's plan to update the railway's fleet of trains, Hamed said.
