The press conference would also claim that the highest participation percentage was in Gharbia at 10 percent, while it did not exceed two percent in more than 15 governorates.

The source, in a statement to Youm7, said that some officials communicated with satellite channels such as Al-Jazeera to coordinate coverage of the press release and to publish misinformation about the referendum. They would display old videos, which were filmed in previous years, during the press conference to prove their points.

The Freedom and Justice Party, through its Twitter account, published that the boycott percentage reached 91.7 percent after the first day of the referendum. Their statement is based on statistics made by the Egyptian Center for Media Studies and Public Opinion and published on El-Marsad El-Araby for Rights and Freedom website.

Tharwat el Kherbawy, dissident leader from the Muslim Brotherhood group, confirmed that the group is already planning to distort the results of the referendum both locally and internationally.
