Politics

As we just started a new academical year schools and university resumed their activity interrupted a few months for summer holidays! Students usually aim and target specific colleges with the hope to become Engineers or Doctors or Lawyers or what so ever and accordingly collages gain their popularity! Almost head to head the top faculties are Economy & Political studies, Engineering, and Medicine. This is just an alphabetical order, does not represent the actual popularity and each faculty represents the dreams or their students. Being an Engineer is the dream of the Faculty of Engineering, and a Doctor is the dream of a Medicine doctor, as for the faculty of Economy & Politics the dream varies! Their are people who dream to be economists and create huge profits but lots of the students have other dreams, that is to become a minister or head of the government or even a future president!

In fact this is the name of the game Economy! Your economy is well organised you know well your points of weakness and strength you know where are you heading you can reach easily your goals.
That what a successful father or head of a family is trying to do, and exactly what a managing director tries, his directors assistants and every body who can increase the income of his institute he is considered to be a successful LEADER!
Once upon my studies for economy imposed on me as part of my studies the professor said: Imagine you saved a pound in a box, with a RAT you did not see! Left the box for the rat to eat from that pound and last thing you saw was the WHOLE POUND in that box then after a good while you decided you need to spend that pound and opened the box what do you think you will find? Some students said “A pound being bit here and there” the professor smiled and said this would be after a day or two but I said you left the box a good while!
Another student proposed, a half eaten pound, another said joking a slim pound, and immediately someone responded, well no pound then but a FAT RAT! We all laughed on the joke and the professor said:-Well you all know now you would not find back that pound you saved in that box, but something else this is exactly what happens in the real world with real money but the RAT is called ANUAL GROTH!  The whole world suffers from this annual growth because economy on its abstract meaning is the  production, distribution or trade, and consumption of limited goods and services by different agents in a given geographical location, this is true if we speak of Egyptian or English or French or whatever country's economy! Now we said world annual growth this is not bound by a country but concerns the WHOLE WORLD!
Now how this is related to that how annual growth relates to the annual economy?
Let us break down the world economy to its original component which are the world country's economy! Take Egypt for example and a specific commodity we used to have a world wide reputation in it that is Egyptian cotton! The production of cotton this year was 100% that is no drought or worms affected its production or let us say the expected production had no surprises and it produced exactly what was expected, moreover, the local consumption was same as expected and the availability for trade or exchange same as last year! But unfortunately this was not the case with let us say country X in general they suffered a drought no crop and in bad need of all the cotton they can get, this is good news for Egypt it means the demand is higher then the price will be higher, again this is not true cause country let us say Y being closely related to X and knowing in advance they will be in bad need of that cotton they did seize the occasion and before the news spread they bought all available cotton including the Egyptian one at the very same price of last year! Country Y took the benefit from Egypt! As a result Egypt loss was not expected and Y monopolizing the market of cotton could impose new higher rates for cotton trade and who can’t afford it is out of the game that is the production will be less and prices would go even higher!
Where is the annual growth in that? Well the story did not reach an end yet, if you can not afford it any more to compete in the market that means you are out of work, no income you become a liability on the country not an assert and therefore there is a difference between income and expenses that increased due to the loss of an asset and add on to the liabilities! This impact is the growth based on last years facts does not much this year's income!
To make the long story short as we saw, expectations and analysis could differ than actual results and who plans well ahead might not be always the winner, and who seize well the opportunities wins on the expense of others, this is what happens worldwide and profits of countries are losses of other countries the total profit of all countries is the annual profit, and the total loss of all countries is the annual loss and difference between annual profit and annual loss is the annual growth positive or negative!
This is what we all learnt at school or collage but real life does not include the under the table deals, this were not taught at educational institutions but in real life out of scandals exposing conspiracies within the same country or between countries on the expense of other countries who are the victims!
This unfortunately is what we call POLITICS, so the faculty of economic and political studies teaches you the principals of economy and politics but in actual life when we expect from a politician to improve our standards of living, year after year -specially in Egypt- we face more and more losses and hope for a better outcome next year but this next year does never come!
Politicians in the parliament are elected to represent the voters equally, those who voted for them as well as those who voted against them but in reality they do not even represent their supporters they only represent themselves! Same happens with the presidents they are there to represent their own parties or friends and supporters regardless of the rest of the country!
The more the income of people is the more popularity this president gets regardless of the impact his country growth did to other countries or the conspiracies they were involved in them calling them Arab Spring!
This is the name of the game, POLITICS! All countries naturally seek their own interests regardless of the poverty, sickness and other pitfalls of 3rd world countries! But before ending my word I'd like to show you how politicians act and think this is what a Senator said in his political Campaign for presidential elections...............

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2008

Today after more than 5 whole years USA just in the very same situation facing an economic crisis which affects the world not just USA, we had seen how the economic situation in 2008 affected Greece, and a lot of other countries in Europe!
Another example more general how politicians treat your brains.....
I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America .

ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It's 7.8%.

COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?

ABBOTT: No, that's 14.7%

COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.

ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.

COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.

ABBOTT: No, that's 14.7%.

COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 14.7% unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, that's 7.8%.

COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 7.8% or 14.7%?

ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed. 14.7% are out of work.

COSTELLO: If you are out of work you are unemployed.

ABBOTT: No, Congress said you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.
This is the game of Politicians, and that is why I hate POLITICS I can not call the Black Gray just to please you! All I can do is pray to God the the POWER OF LOVE one day overcomes the LOVE OF POWER!
Let me as well congratulate my fellow citizens of their feast my God make it a happy Eid for All Egyptians and Egypt and keep blessing them!
