The political Islam falling down

Many people see President Mohamed Morsy being ousted is but a military coup against the legitimate president. However, many other people, including myself, think that it was a new revolution to correct the path of the preceding one in 2011 that aimed to get rid of a tyranny and to gain freedom, democracy, civil state as well as social justice.

In fact, what happened in Egypt was a great failure of the Muslim Brotherhood as well as the ideology of political Islam. This ideology that bloomed with the growing Islamic groups in Iran after Khomeini had won, and came to an end in Egypt much faster than most people had expected.

Many people think that Dr. Mohamed Morsy came to power through a fully democratic process, which is true. However, such electoral votes are not a permission to do whatever he would. In one year, he committed many serious mistakes and broke many promises that he made before he had won. He issued a constitutional declaration giving himself extremely wide authorities. Furthermore, he and his group have done their best to control and seize all Egyptian institutions. They ignored the opposition and gave them cold shoulders calling them betrayals and infidels.

Under the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood, there was no economic development, and everything went worse; prices went crazy and the people went poorer.

Therefore, millions of Egyptians demonstrated in order to overthrow Morsy as well as the Muslim Brotherhood from power. This outrage was ignored as usual by the president, but responded to by the Army that decided to stop the expected civil war at any price.

Now, the Muslim Brotherhood has failed to rule and their days in power came to an end. We need to learn the lesson from Syria. We need to draft a real constitution that suits all Egyptians. Then, we may hold parliamentary and presidential free elections that suit the new free Egypt.
