Gamal Abdel Nasser, secretary of Nasser’s Party in Beni Suef said to Copts United that he refuses the current form of the founding committee of the Constitution. The party had previously demanded to form the founding committee before the elections of People's Assembly and Shura Council.
Abdel-Nasser said that the constitution committee needs to be reformed according to clear standards which should be set in another constitutional declaration. The constitution is never written by the majority of the parliament, but rather all forces, sects and classes of the community.
He said that the Islamic parties insisting on the current committee in spite of the withdrawal of many parties, liberal currents, Al-Azhar, the Chruch is unjustified and is considered a serious challenge for all parties and national forces.
