Egyptian fusion artist Nadya Shanab s album El-Mahrousa has been re-released as a Deluxe Edition.
The new edition includes three previously unreleased tracks on digital platforms.
The Deluxe Edition is available on Spotify, Anghami, Apple music, iTunes, Deezer, and Google Play.
El-Mahrousa is Shanab s debut album, which included 10 tracks released back in 2010 through her own record label Hamzet Wasl Records.
However, due to censorship restrictions, the album was not released in Egypt until 2012, when it was the number one best seller in Virgin Megastores for its debut month.
The Deluxe Edition features "13 tracks that ebb and flow smoothly between sounds that Shanab grew up with on the banks of the River Nile and those she was exposed to around the river Mersey," reads the musician s press release.
"El-Mahrousa is an expression reflecting Shanab s personal journey as an individual constantly juggling elements of East and West in almost all aspects of life, coming to terms with how both have intertwined and manifested in her identity. Language exchanges often happen within some songs while others use either English or Arabic lyrics throughout," the press release says.
"The album covers topics from all corners of life – from politics, social issues and commentary – like Ticking Bomb and Ana Bint Masreya Soghayara (FGM Song) to love and heartbreak; Sa alny Habiby and Cairo s Minarets."
