Seeking happiness or getting crazy
At the world is celebrating the International Day of Happiness, I decided to write about happiness in the world. Happiness as we know is positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
Religions apparently aim to achieve happiness in a way or another and this appears in Nirvana of Buddhism. In Advaita Vedanta of Hinduism, the ultimate goal of life is happiness. Serving God in Judaism is a way of happiness or simcha‎ "worship The Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs," (Psalm 100:2).
In Christianity, the bible says: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4: 4). In Islam, the Holy Quran says: Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do. (Al-Nahl 97).
However, many people are using religion to ignite hatred, wars and bloodshed. I believe this is not the goal behind them, and therefore,  we have to search for the happiness we are losing as the world is getting crazy!
