Egypts Sisi discuss military cooperation with Sudans defence minister

Egypt s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed with Sudanese Defence Minister Awad Mohammed bin Auf military cooperation, border control, as well as combating organised crime, terrorism and irregular migration on Tuesday, a statement by presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady said.

The meeting comes on the sidelines of Egypt s first defence expo EDEX 2018, which kicked off on Monday and will last until Wednesday.
 
El-Sisi praised the distinguished Egyptian-Sudanese relations and the deep historical ties between the two countries, and he stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security in the region and the African continent.
 
The Egyptian president also pointed out the importance of military cooperation and the exchange of experiences between the armed forces of both countries in training, security cooperation, intelligence, and military manufacturing.
 
The Sudanese defence minister conveyed to El-Sisi the greetings of Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, stressing the strong relations between the two countries and Sudan s keenness to enhance joint cooperation with Egypt in all fields, especially in security and militarily.
 
The meeting was attended by Egypt s Defence Minister Mohammad Zaki and Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel, as well as Sudan s ambassador to Cairo.
 
The Sudanese minister hailed Egypt s efforts in organising EDEX 2018.
