Eighty percent of construction works of an electricity power plant, which has been built by Siemens, in Ghayadah city iof Sharqia governoarte has completed, Youm7 reported Beni Suif governor Sherif Habib Thursday.
Power generation units, which include steam and gas turbines and boilers, have been built; it is scheduled that the plant will operate in December with a capacity of 2,400 megawatt.
The power plant is one of three in an eight billion Euro contract Egypt signed with Siemens in June 2015 will add 16.4 gigawatts of capacity to the country’s grid and expected to increase its power generation capacity by 50 per cent.
