Police conscript fatally shot, another injured in ‘terrorist’ attack in Arish

A police conscript was fatally and another one was injured Wednesday after a group of militants opened fire at them near a police station in Arish of the restive Sinai, Youn7 reported. The injured man, 30, has been hospitalized and his condition was very critical following undergoing a surgery .

Number of Egyptian expatriates will be updated: Minister of Emigration

Egypt’s Minister of Emigration Nabila Makram announced Wednesday that the total number of the Egyptian expatriates, who are registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reached eight million nationals, Youm7 reported. She noted that this figure is inaccurate and the ministries will update the expatriates’ database.

103 hospitals will be developed nationwide: Health Ministry

Ministry of Health has decided to carry out a program to develop a total of 103 hospitals nationwide, through providing all required medical devices, Youm7 reported head of the Therapy Department at the ministry.

45 tons of monopolized rice seized in past few days: Supply police

Over the past few days, Egyptian Supply Police have seized a total of 45 tons of rice, was monopolized by the merchants to increase its price on the local market, according to a statement from re Ministry  of Interior. Since May, Egypt has seen a hike in rice prices due to merchants’ monopoly; however, the government has announced that it would contract to import 80,000 tons of rice for the local demand.

Minister of Environment heads to Morocco for 22th Conference of Parties on Climate Change

Egypt’s Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmy and his a compacting delegation headed Wednesday to Morocco to prepare for the 22th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Chang that is scheduled in November 2016, state-owned newspaper al-Ahram reported.
