Muslim Brotherhood denies seeking reconciliation with Sisi regime

Secretary-General of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Hussein denied asking Egyptian lawyer and head of the Ibn Khaldun Centre for Development Studies Saad Eddin Ibrahim to mediate to reconcile the group with the current Egyptian regime, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.Secretary-General of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Hussein denied asking Egyptian lawyer and head of the Ibn Khaldun Centre for Development Studies Saad Eddin Ibrahim to mediate to reconcile the group with the current Egyptian regime, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

“The stance of the Muslim Brotherhood is clear that there is no concession of the legitimacy and it is sticking to the return of President Mohamed Morsi, no reconciliation with those who have Egyptian blood on their hands, no concession on the blood of martyrs and no retreat on achieving the demands of the January 25 Revolution,” Hussein said.

His remarks came after Egyptian media reported that Ibrahim and Hussein met in Istanbul, Turkey, along with prominent opposition leader Ayman Nour attended the meeting. During the meeting, it was claimed that Hussein asked Ibrahim to work as a mediator between the Brotherhood and the Egyptian regime.
