General Congregation Council of the Coptic Orthodox Church issued a statement to warn against producing a film about Pope Shenouda III without taking permission of the church.
Statement added that history of Pope Shenouda belongs to the church according to church regulations. Thus, it’s a must to obtain the consent of the church first before the production of movies or series about his biography, stressing that all legal measures to prevent this will be taken by the council.
