Zaazou said the plan includes the purchase of the latest scanning and detection equipment, as well as increasing the number of security personnel in the resorts. The minister added that additional CCTV systems will be introduced to comprehensively cover the hotels and resorts.

On Friday, two militants entered the Bella Vista resort in Hurghada and stabbed three tourists, one Swedish and two Australians. The militants entered the hotel through a restaurant facing the street.

The attack came one day after gunmen attacked tourists at the Great Pyramids of Giza, leaving no casualties but destroying the facade of the Three Pyramids hotel near the location of attack.
