Coptic churches disagree on personal status law

Dr. Andrea Zaki, head of the Anglican Communion, said that the personal status law for non-Muslims did not arrive until now to the Ministry of State for Parliamentary Affairs. Dr. Andrea Zaki, head of the Anglican Communion, said that the personal status law for non-Muslims did not arrive until now to the Ministry of State for Parliamentary Affairs.

Zaki added, according to Al Masry Al Youm newspaper, that the Ministry of State for Parliamentary Affairs said it doesn’t have a draft for the personal status law, but only a draft for unified law of building houses of worship.

For its part, the Coptic Orthodox Church said that statement of the evangelical church was "inaccurate" since there was an agreement in 2014 that was signed by heads of the three churches.
