Archbishop Samir Nassar, Archbishop of Damascus of the Maronites, announced the opening of a new Maronite Church in Damascus, in January of 2016.
According to Russia Today, the Bishop described the opening of the church as a gift for Christ at Christmas hoping that it will be place for prayer and joy among violence, fear and wreckage.
