Egypt's prime minister heads to Riyadh for meeting of Saudi-Egyptian council

Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail traveled to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to head the Egyptian delegation to the Egyptian-Saudi coordination council, state-owned MENA reported.

According to MENA, the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi council will be held later on Wednesday.

The Saudi delegation of the council is headed by Prince Mohamed Bin Salman, the deputy crown prince of Saudi Arabia and the kingdom's defence minister.

The official Saudi news agency, SPA, reports that the council will discuss a number of economic and military agreements at its meeting.

The Egyptian-Saudi coordination council was founded in November during a visit by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to Saudi Arabia, based on the Cairo declaration reached between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in July regarding the joint economic and military projects between the two countries.
