Sins of Sadat

On October 6, 1981, former President Sadat was assassinated in the memory of the victory of October 1973. Anwar Sadat is indeed one of the most controversial presidents in Egypt. His life and death involved a great deal of ambiguity and contradiction.

His assassination operation was very successful that you may think international organizations were behind his death. His policies moved Egypt from socialism to capitalism. He also moved Egypt from subordination of the Soviet Union to the absolute loyalty to America.

Sadat used religion to change the secular community. He even called himself the faithful president proving that Egyptians are easy to manipulate using religion.

He not only was agent of the German intelligence against Britain, but also was said to work for the American intelligence since 1964 to tell them what happens at the Revolutionary Command Council.

He was a good actor. Some writers claim he was responsible for the death of Nasser. He was escalated to the post of first deputy of Abdel Nasser, which paved the way for him to be the next President. Yet, he wasn’t the closest to Nasser or the best to take the job. Indeed, there are many achievements of Sadat and greater sins as well.
