The Next Parliamentary Elections

While we are close to the parliament elections, we need to shed light on the importance of this upcoming election. There is no doubt that the ex-members of the NDP will try to get back into the political life. Also, we should confess that the businessmen will also try to be involved in this election at least to protect their interest in the next coming years.

Not only will these 2 groups try to be in the parliament, but the Islamic Current will also try its best to be represented such as the Al Nour Party, and others. Let’s not exclude some members of the Muslim Brotherhood as well, who will try their best to be represented under the umbrella of Al Nour party and the other Islamic parties that exist.

From that introduction, we can see that it’s clear this parliament will be a mixed Parliament and most probably nobody will be able to get the majority. This also means that it will be difficult to pass any law or regulations inside the parliament.

Here is the real problem that I want to focus on: will we have a parliament unable to issue any laws relating to important issues that Egyptians face due to a lack of the majority inside the parliament?

Furthermore, I can assure you that the next parliament will clash with the president as well. The president now has the right to issue laws due to the absence of the parliament. However, when we will have a parliament; it will be the responsibility of the members of the parliament to issue the laws and regulations. As long as no party will have the majority inside the parliament that will definitely lead to a clash with the president who will need at that time to achieve progress through these laws and regulations.
