Sisi to oversee signing two MoUs in Germany

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will oversee signing two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during his visit to Germany early June, Youm7 reported Sunday.

A MoU will be signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Messe Berlin, and another with Fruit Logistica, the leading international fruit and vegetables marketing exhibition; Egypt will be the partner in the exhibition’s session of 2016.

German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce CEO, Rainer Herrett, arrived in Berlin Sunday, on the sidelines of the chamber’s preparations for participating in the events prepared for Sisi’s visit to Germany.

An agreement will be signed between the German chamber and the Egyptian Ministry of Industry for providing foreign expertise for Egyptian companies, aside from another agreement to be signed with Seimens.

Herett said that “120 German companies will participate in the events organized for Sisi’s visit to Germany.”

The diplomatic delegation, invited by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, visited Germany a week ago to prepare for Sisi’s visit and polling the public opinion about Egypt’s situation, Youm7 reported May 25.

The delegation was planned to present the Egyptian diplomacy from a neutral perspective, and therefore to determine the best means to cooperate and open new channels of communication on official and social levels.

The Egyptian delegation was scheduled to meet a number of members of parliament, officials and decision makers to discuss how Egypt and Germany can “combat terrorism” in the region or in Europe, as some European youth have been recruited by “extremist groups,” including the Islamic State group.
