Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria warned the Coptic people against visiting and supporting monasteries that are not recognized by the Holy Synod.
A statement issued on Monday listed several places including Wadi Rayan in Fayoum, St. Karas monastery at Wadi Natroun, Emmanuel house at Wadi Natroun, and Metaos Fakhouri monastery at Cairo Alexandria Desert Road
The list also included Philopatir monastery, which is known as Zitouna monastery, at Obor road, as well as St. John monastery at Cairo Ismailia road
