Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark See, said in his meeting with Gebran Bassil, Lebanese Foreign Minister, and Ambassador Khalid Ziada, Lebanese ambassador to Egypt that Coptic church has nothing to do with politics.
He added that the Church is an independent Egyptian Foundation since its inception at the hands of St. Mark the Apostle until the very moment.
The pope said that Christian presence in the Middle East faces many challenges, and actions should be taken in order to preserve such existence and diversity.
