Egypt's opposition Muslim Brotherhood group's General Guide Mohamed Badie would meet Thursday with other senior members--including Seif el-Islam Hassan el-Banna, son of the movement's founder--to discuss possible legal measures against the producers of a TV series that depicts the group's history and the life of el-Banna, according to sources of the groups
"The producers never provided me with a copy of the script," said el-Banna. "But I later came to learn that it gives a false account of my father's life and tarnishes the group's reputation."
In a related development, prosecutors remanded 12 Muslim Brothers--including Osama Nasr Eddin, member of the group's influential Guidance Bureau--into custody for 15 days pending investigation. The men were initially arrested on 18 February and charged with "belonging to a banned group" and "planning activities that threaten national security."
"The government has no evidence against them," said Islamist lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud.
