Shura Council clashes trial adjourned to Dec 27
The Cairo Criminal Court Saturday postponed the trial of activist Alaa Abd El Fattah and 24 other defendants being tried on charges of involvement in clashes outside the Shura Council in 2013 until Dec. 27 to listen to defense testimony, Youm7 reported Saturday.

The charges include illegal protesting, causing riots and clashes and attacking security forces, including an attack and robbery against Col. Emad Tahoon.

During the Saturday session, the prosecution said Abd El Fattah started the protests, as he wrote on his Facebook page saying “take part, come out, stop the Protest Law.”

The prosecution said about 400 protesters gathered in front of the Shura Council, as many of the videos that were uploaded on the Internet show, which means that there was a previous intention for violence against the police forces, Youm7 reported.

It added that the prosecution demanded the maximum punishment for the defendants, as they “harmed the State’s security.”
